Bhimtal Lake is located in Bhimtal City of Nainital District of Uttarakhand. The lake was impounded by the masonry dam built in 1883. This Lake is the largest lake in the Kumaon region. Also known as the “Lake District of India”.

This beautiful Lake is the largest picturesque lake located in Nainital district “The Lake District of Uttarakhand”. It is said that the Lake name “Bhimtal” is devoted to the legendary Bhima of Mahabharata. The lake is surrounded by green mountains.
